The Face Behind The Blog
Hey! I’m Jessica, California girl with a heart full of wanderlust and passion for discovering new places. Growing up, the international terminal at Los Angeles airport always felt like the gateway to adventure. A semester in Spain was a life-changing experience that opened my eyes to the world in ways I never imagined. After returning from Spain, I moved to New York City, drawn by the big-city energy, and ended up staying for seven years. Bonus: it put me even closer to Europe!
I now get to experience the world through the eyes of my two kids. Their wonder and curiosity has brought on a whole new meaning to pursuing memories.
I love finding hidden gems—whether it’s a quaint hotel, a cozy restaurant, a unique shop, or a charming street.
Where I’ve Been
Travel Destinations
Beautiful Portugal! Portugal is a wonderful travel destination. It offers a diverse experience in history, landscapes, rich culture, and delicious cuisine. Forever grateful for the two weeks we spent exploring Porto down to Lisbon.
Oh, Italia! Where the dolce vita is in full effect. From the ruins of Rome, rolling hills of Tuscany and rocky beaches of Puglia – there is truly something for everyone! We spent 18 days in Italy on an epic summer road trip.
Growing up in California, Mexico was where we went on a family vacations every year. It holds a special place in my heart. Its vibrant culture, warm people and delicious food make it one of my favorite family destinations. We even got married in Mexico!
California girl here! Born and raised in Southern California so have traveled lots up and down the California coast. Also spent seven years living in New York and still travel back often to visit my husband’s family.

How I Got Started Blogging
Blogging is the result of countless journeys, photos captured, and memories made. It’s my way of documenting our experiences while also satisfying my creative side. After 23 years in the fashion industry, where creativity plays a role but much of my time is spent in spreadsheets and managing budgets, this blog provides the perfect creative escape that complements my corporate gig.

My Experience with Budgeting
Traveling is a joy, and budgeting for it makes it even more fun. I know it sounds crazy, but hear me out! Organizing and prioritizing what really matters lets me stretch every dollar and squeeze the most out of each adventure. For me, budgeting isn’t a restriction –it’s the way to make the most of every experience. I get that not everyone feels the same, so I’m more than happy to share my budgeting resources with you!
Where Am I Now?
I’m based in Southern California with my two kids, husband, and our dog Luna. We travel often for the kids’ sports and take 2-3 big family trips each year. I also make time for an annual girls’ trip that gives me a chance to recharge in a whole different way.
